Q: Will there be a school offer again this year?

Once again this season, the City of Vienna is inviting all Viennese kindergartens, schools and daycares in the schools association to take part in free ice skating at the Viennese Ice Dream. This “school offer” is valid on school days from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday. Tickets are available without prior registration at the ticket office upon completion of a confirmation of receipt. Furthermore, as part of this school offer, ice skates are also available to hire at a reduced rate.

Q: Will there be free practice areas again this year?

Yes, the two practice areas in the park will be set up again this year and are available free of charge. Ice skating aids can also be found on both rinks.

Q: Will there be an opening ceremony again this year?

No. As was the case last year, due to the ongoing pandemic, no opening ceremony and thus no free ice skating can take place on the opening day.

Q: Where are the entrances to the Viennese Ice Dream located?

The main entrances to the Viennese Ice Dream are located on the Ringstraße opposite the Burgtheater and on the Rathausplatz coming from Felderstraße. COVID checks (proof of compliance with the 2G rule) will be carried out directly at the entrances.

Q: I forgot or lost something on the premises of the Viennese Ice Dream. Are lost and found objects collected somewhere?

Q: How do I find out if the Viennese Ice Dream is closed?

If the Viennese Ice Dream has to be closed at short notice, for example due to a severe weather alert, we will communicate this closure in a scrolling text on our website.

Q: Does an admission ticket have to be purchased or can accompanying persons watch from the outside?

It is possible to enter the premises of the Viennese Ice Dream without a valid ticket. However, all guests must show the currently valid COVID certificates at the entrances. A ticket is only required to enter the ice rinks (turnstiles). The two free practice areas in the Rathauspark can also be visited without a ticket.

Q: How do I get to the Viennese Ice Dream?

The Viennese Ice Dream is located on the Rathausplatz in Vienna's first district. Due to its central location, it is very easy to reach by public transport: * Lines 1, 71, D, U2Z (Rathausplatz / Burgtheater stop) * Line 2 (Parliament stop) * Line U2 (Schottentor, take the ‘Ring’ exit) * Line U3 (Volkstheater, take the ‘Ring’ exit) Information on how to get there at www.wienerlinien.at Getting there by bicycle: Cycle paths run both in front of (Universitätsring) and behind the City Hall (Friedrich-Schmidt-Platz). Plenty of bicycle parking is available. A Citybike station is located directly in front of the Rathauspark. Getting there by car: Paid parking is available in the BOE Garage Rathauspark directly below the City Hall Square.
