In principle, the Viennese Ice Dream is also open in rain, snow and wind.
However, in the event of storms (thunder, hail, etc.), the Viennese Ice Dream has to close for safety reasons. Any cancellations will be announced on this website at the earliest opportunity.
Tip: You can check the current weather situation at the Rathausplatz via the webcam before you set off.
The Viennese Ice Dream is located on the Rathausplatz in Vienna’s first district. Due to its central location, it is very easy to reach by public transport:
- Lines 1, 71, D, U2Z (Rathausplatz / Burgtheater stop)
- Line 2 (Parliament stop)
- Line U2 (Schottentor, take the ‘Ring’ exit)
- Line U3 (Volkstheater, take the ‘Ring’ exit)

Getting there by bicycle:
Cycle paths run both in front of (Universitätsring) and behind the City Hall (Friedrich-Schmidt-Platz). Plenty of bicycle parking is available. A Citybike station is located directly in front of the Rathauspark.
Getting there by car:
Paid parking is available in the BOE Garage Rathauspark directly below the City Hall Square.
If the Viennese Ice Dream has to be closed at short notice, for example due to a severe weather alert, we will communicate this closure in a scrolling text on our website.
Dogs are not allowed on the premises.
All lost and found items are kept for three days and then handed over to the lost property office.

Yes, the Viennese Ice Dream features barrier-free access. However, wheelchairs, crutches and other walking aids are not permitted on the ice rinks – with the exception of the two free exercise areas in the Rathauspark.
The main entrances to the Viennese Ice Dream are located on the Ringstraße opposite the Burgtheater and on the Rathausplatz coming from Felderstraße.
COVID checks (proof of compliance with the 2G rule) will be carried out directly at the entrances.

All visitors must provide evidence of their COVID status at the entrance to the Viennese Ice Dream. In accordance with current guidelines, guests must be either fully vaccinated or recovered.
If a regulation is issued by the authorities that no longer permits the operation of the Viennese Ice Dream, it may be terminated prematurely.
No, since March 5, 2022 you no longer have to wear a mouth and nose protection at the Viennese Ice Dream.
